There are so many positions for Social Media opening up in companies around the world. These positions may require a degree in Marketing, perhaps even a degree in HR leaving many creative minds stuck in their boring positions. My company, KiMedia Strategies, has been seeking to hire for a few months now. It’s been extremely hard because I’m not looking for a traditional marketer, I don’t care how many Twitter followers you have and I certainly don’t want to hear how you can use your personal brand to increase following numbers for my clients. None of that matters to me, but I do want to share with you what does.
* An individual that uses more than simply Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
* Someone that can tell me about breaking news in the Social community
* Someone that realizes no one in my company will ever be an expert in Social Media
* A creative individual
I know that these seem like extremely easy qualities to find in an individual, but they aren’t. To me it’s not all about the numbers or the degree; it’s about the creativity to think outside of the traditional marketing box to really create something amazing for clients.
