It’s been 9 days since Startup Weekend Tampa ended and I’m just now able to catch my breath long enough to share with you a few things I learned as a co-organizer over the course of 54 hours.
1. People show up early. They are eager and entrepreneurs are ready to get down to business.
2. The community here in Tampa has mad support for entrepreneurs and there are many successful entrepreneurs that would drop what they are doing to simply lend some helpful advice to a newbie.
3. People are always way more interested last minute.
4. There are so many creative minds in Tampa, it’s awesome.
5. You really wont get much sleep.
6. Espresso does wonders for lack of sleep, but then again so does a power nap.
7. Grey Goose and Bing Energy Drink is good, but not as good as I thought. Bing is much better on its own.
8. People will amaze you.

Startup Weekend Tampa was a lot of work to plan and well worth it when I saw just how focused and determined people were to see their ideas through. Thank you to everyone; sponsors, volunteers, my amazing co-organizers, Adam Coomes (our facilitator), the creative attendees, mentors, speakers and judges. Without each of you this event wouldn’t have been as successful as it was.
