If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard someone tell me that’s all I do, I might not be Mark Zuckerberg rich, but I’d be pretty comfortable. This gets so aggravating because it makes what I do for my business, clients and startups seem so easy and worthless, when in reality I do Tweet, but I do SO much more. ![]()
I am asked at least once a week to explain what my typical day is like, and I did begin to write one of those “A Day in the Life of…” blog posts. I immediately realized that no two days are ever the same making that post completely worthless to write. Along with Tweeting, I build out and manage many Social Media marketing campaigns for many clients, maintaining all of their social platforms including, but not limited to:
- Tumblr
- Yelp
- Google Places
- Google+
- YouTube
- FlickR
- StumbleUpon
- and many more depending on the clients needs
My daily routine is hectic. It starts with Twitter and usually ends with Twitter, but is filled with so many other awesomely engaging platforms. I have a “shell schedule” that outlines tasks that need to be completed throughout the day, but doesn’t include the engaging Tweets, customer service-like posts, monitoring of the brand not just on the social platforms, but throughout the entire Internet that is done all day long. There are also the numerous blog posts being read throughout the day because I’m constantly learning new things and need to stay on top of changes to any platform as well as new strategies and techniques to maximize exposure and engagement on all platforms.
The above, that’s what I do professionally for KiMedia Strategies.
For my personal brand, I do indeed get paid to Tweet. I have advertisers and sponsors that approach me to Tweet for them, and as long as I approve of the Tweets, believe in the company and can 100% say that I would have Tweeted about it without being paid, I do accept money to Tweet. I enjoy being a part of the Social Media ecosystem and am unashamed to admit that I am compensated to Tweet about something I already think very highly of.
So yes, at the end of the day… I do Tweet. Heck, I Tweet A LOT, but that’s not all I do.
