I love FlickR for many reasons. One reason is that so many people are visual people. They like to see beautiful colors, silly pictures or amazing art. Some people spend hours looking at other individuals’ images. Some people spend days creating the perfect picture to share with the Interwebs. There are also those people (much like myself) that send pictures quickly snapped on my phone straight to my Social Sites including FlickR. I eventually get around to adding tags and a description, but it isn’t that I don’t have time. It’s more like although FlickR has always been good to me, it has gotten dull and boring to me. That’s what happens to a lot of sites if they don’t update their look, layout and/or add to the site.
FlickR, I may be coming back to ya. Looks like you are previewing a new look and I think I likey!
This is what FlickR currently looks like if you are not previewing the new layout.
Pretty basic. You have a place for your tags, view the rest of the photostream, edit the image, bookmark to Delicious.com or email to a friend among a few other features. It’s a pretty great platform if you share photos often.
Are you ready to check out the new layout?
Some new features
Map: Place the image where (or approximately where) the image was taken.
Smoother scrolling photo stream
Additional options are all in 2 drop down menus
With this you can easily tag, rotate, edit, send and share the image along with a bunch of other awesome actions.
Keyboard shortcuts
View photo in light box
There are a bunch more upgrades and new features and I encourage you to go check it out for yourself!
Happy FlickRing!
