I’ve noticed an influx of Facebook deals being posted through various company fanpages. I’ve also noticed many skeptical people and I don’t blame them. In fact I applaud those that know now to think before they click. Sadly I’ve already seen spammers and hackers trying to take advantage of the Facebook deal craze and I’m here to show you how to tell the difference.
Legit Facebook deals you can claim
✓ Come directly from the company fanpage or are shared from the page and show the fanpage/ company name under the deal and pop up the company fanpage preview when moused over.
✓ Do not say to “click here” or “visit to redeem” – Legit Facebook deals simply have a mail icon with the words “Get offer” next to it.
Possible malicious Facebook deals
✓ Do not have or look anything like the above deal.
✓ Encourage people to “click here”, “share to redeem” etc… – See example image below.
