Youtube, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace…..
The list can go on as to how many sites there are for people to use and to find other people. Over the weekend I spent time with a friend and her family down in Venice, Florida. She has two daughters and a son. Her youngest daughter is 8 and completely inspired me to write this blog post.
As I was hanging out with them on Saturday, the 8 year old says “I found you on Youtube, Kim”.
Completely stunned and a little impressed I walked over to the computer and sure enough she pulled up my Youtube channel with only 9 videos and started watching one.
Where am I going with this? Well Our youth today knows more, understands more and does more Online than what we think.
They are listening, watching and reading.
Are you setting the right example for your kids, your friends kids, grand children or nieces/nephews?
- Do you say or do things Online that you wouldn’t want to see children saying and doing?
- Do you think before you post?
I know that I am very glad that I have absolutely nothing to hide, but worry that these children could possibly get the wrong impression of how Social Media and social sites should be used.
What do you think?

Come on you are underscore Kim Randall of course she has seen your Youtube channels.
Ok but serious great point you make here Kim, that’s why it is important whatever you put on the web whether it be twitter, facebook, youtube or your blog to understand that everyone can see what you are saying.
