01 Poll ~ Do You Use Facebook Chat (IM)

I am very curious to know just how many of you actually use the Facebook instant messaging. If you do, why? If not, do tell!

I personally do not. It’s buggy (imo) and I don’t always see messages pop up and feel like I am ignoring people if I don’t respond.

I don’t. But then I again, I almost never use any other kind of IM either. I used to, but nowadays I prefer e-mail as they allow me to reply when I want to and not have another person sitting at the other end expecting a two-second reply :)

I wish Facebook chat was more refined and had more functionality (*cough* video) but I use it everyday to keep up with friends. Linked it to Nimbuzz on my Crackberry and now I have continued access to them. Before I pick up the phone or sometimes text, I turn to Facebook chat.

Personally, its a faster way to get in touch with others.

I used to use it all of the time, but I was getting too many messages when I had too much to do. Now, I just turn it on every once in a while, when I have a few seconds.

Yepper, I use it for sure :) especially when Twitter is down …..

On second thought ….. when is Twitter ever working anymore? :)

I find Facebook chat (browser version) to be far too buggy and unreliable. Also, I dislike the fact that with it on, you can login and be swamped with people trying to get at you, when you only want to log in quickly.

I have an MSN account and use that a lot, and can use it without being signed into Facebook. Yes, I could use an additional app (which I may start doing anyway.)

I use Adium which lets you do this without being signed in to the Facebook site for example.

Agree with you totally… Very buggy and annoying. I use GChat usually (with AIM integrated). When anyone IMs me on Facebook that I actually want to talk to I ask them to IM me there.

I did use facebook chat for a couple time. Still IM works well for me. So glad to read about this information. Be back for more reading updates.
