Social Media Questions Answered (in my own opinion)

Today I decided to start the day, after reading emails, by asking my fellow Tweeters if they had any questions about Social Media. I received a few, but the one I am going to answer in this post was from one of the most social not to mention one of my oldest [not in age ] friends on Twitter, Dr. Rus.

Here is my answer to this question:

You really do NOT absolutely NEED Social Media. Your life will not end, you will not end up homeless, you will not be banished from your country or any other bad stuff you can think of.

You do however need to look into the options of how YOU can make Social Media work for you. Are you unemployed and looking for a job? Social Media can help you with that. Are you a local business trying to make it in this recession? I bet that you can key into your target audience and make the Social Web work in your favor too.

The point is that although Social Media is not a necessity in life like food, water or oxygen might be; Social Media is becoming a way of life.

EX: How many people check their Facebook or Twitter accounts before their first cup of coffee is poured?

If you are a business and want to be current in your marketing; then yes you NEED a Social Media Strategy or Strategist to show you the benefits.

Let’s face it, if you are on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Myspace or any other Social Networking site you are already using Social Media. Now how about you make it work to your benefit!
