In today’s economy people are looking everywhere to make an extra money that they can. Many people search the Internet for work at home jobs that can get them the extra cash they need to reach the goals that they have in life.
That all sounds GREAT, huh?
This is where you wish I could give you a list of sites to sign up on and start working from home right away, however I can’t
What I can do is share with you steps on how to avoid being taken advantage of by anyone and any company should you choose to pursue an Online career.
- Always, always, always Google the company! Check and see what people are saying about them and their work at home offer. This is the best way to get a quick idea of what people think about it.
- Make sure you have a contract that YOU and the company has to sign. No contract means you could possibly have NO money for your hard work.
- On said contract make sure BOTH parties have signed.
- Keep original documents that YOU created. This will help you out should one day not be compensated for your work.
- Save ALL important emails. Any emails speaking about pay, work completed etc… needs to be saved in its own folder.
- Request to be paid by check OR Paypal only.
- Back up all of your files on a disk or another hard drive.
- Don’t pay ANYONE ANYTHING to get started working for THEM!
So these are some of my steps to protecting YOU while working Online. Also be careful should you randomly receive a check in the mail from a company that you have never done any work for.

I also do work-at-home jobs and so far, it has been very rewarding for me but i have to agree with you. it also has its hazards and if you are not forewarned, you can easily fall into the trap. I always trust my instincts so my bad experiences were kept at minimum.
my advice is, stick with reputable companies such as Elance and Odesk especially if you’re just starting out. this way you can see feedbacks from previous deals and you can make your decisions a little easier.

This is so true! With the economy nowadays, a lot of people are trying to find ways to earn money, sadly other people are as well and their methods are quite questionable in nature. We have to do our best to protect ourselves from these scammers because they are everywhere on the internet and they have no morals and will take advantage of every gullible person out there.
If unsure about a company, always pick the ones with minimal risks. Free signups, no charge etc.
