Dolce Debbie, one of my favorite…. OK my favorite Tampa Bay chef is in the running to be crowned Taste of Home’s “Mrs. Holiday” and I’ve taken it upon myself to rally some votes to help her win this. Debbie is not only a dear friend, but also an extremely talented chef. When I say that there isn’t a dish she’s made that I haven’t liked, it’s the truth and those of you that know me know that I am a super picky eater. I don’t like to try foods, but Debbie has always convinced me to “give it a try”. I’ve NEVER been disappointed or left her house or party hungry.
I asked Debbie why she wanted to win and why she thinks she deserves to be crowned Mrs. Holiday and this is what she had to say.
“I want to be able to share with a larger audience my love for the holidays and all of the wonderful traditions that my family has created over the generations as well as new ideas and shortcuts I’ve discovered for myself and friends over the last couple of years.”
Debbie continues “Being from the south and married to an Italian, I have the privilege of having been surrounded by food and large families my whole life. I have learned to both share on a large scale these traditions and tailor them at the same time to fit any size of celebration. I also love spending my free moments creating new ways of celebration for every day, and even more so for the holidays.”
I’ve personally had the pleasure of celebrating Christmas Eve with Debbie and her family and no matter what any contest results may be, Debbie will always be Mrs. Holiday to me!

Great description of Debbie’s personality as well as her cooking abilities! Just want to add that anyone who comes to Tampa Bay is an immediate friend and welcome in Debbie and Barry’s home – no this isn’t an open invitation to their home but I know many will chime in and say that Debbie was the first person who invited them to her home even b4 she met them – she makes every day a Holiday ! Please vote for her every day if you can! I know this might be a pain in the butt but know that Debbie is a hostess Every Day for you regardless so it’s time for us to step up to the “plate” Hee, Hee for her. What say You?!!!

Very true, Cate. The first time I met Debbie and Barry was at her test kitchen for a chili dinner where anyone was welcome.
As a college senior currently living in Tampa… there is definitely plenty of stuff to do all the time—I’ve traveled quite a bit and I definitely haven’t come across many places that have the variety of food and drink options I’ve seen here in Tampa.
