Many people don’t know that when they send an @reply to a fellow Twitterer that not everyone is actually seeing that Tweet. This means that when all of you are sending out your #FollowFriday Tweets and making them personal as to why one should follow another, no one other than those already following that person will see it.
Of course the exception to this is that you will see it if:
1. You are following BOTH the sender and the person being @replied.
2. You visit the profile of the person that sent the @reply on Twitter.
3. You include more than one @reply within the same Tweet.
There is one more exception that many are not aware of as well
4. place a . in front of the @reply so it looks something like this: .@_KimRandall messages message message
Super simple and now none of your Tweeps will miss out on the conversation you are having with someone else.
**Update: @ShotOfCoffee Pointed out that this could become spam-like and clog up Tweet Streams, which I do agree with. However this suggestion isnt for the everyday “.@Blahblahblah Hi How are you?” replies. This is geared towards those that want to recommend a fellow Twitterer to their followers or for people much like myself that get asked questions on a specific topic or give pointers on it. This would allow all of my followers to see a useful link or tip.
Use this tip wisely! **
